Get access to US Netflix! [Working in 2018]

Are you out there in the world somewhere outside the USA and want to get access to US Netflix! Here is what you need to do!

There are lots of people out there who want to get access to US Netflix even though they live somewhere else. There is an apparent reason for that because the US Netflix is the biggest and lots of people consider this to be the best of all Netflix regions. Here is how you can access US Netflix abroad!

Useful instruction on streaming US Netflix

It is important to know that Netflix is doing their uttermost to block VPN and SmartDNS providers. That is why this method might not work forever, so please give it a try and if it is not functioning for you, write a comment, and I will update method described here will work at all times.

Access US Netflix – Last updated December 2018

I continuously check the methods described right here, so that you can be sure to get access to US Netflix with a VPN provider that is working!

Access American Netflix – The Best Way

Currently what might be the easiest and best way to stream American Netflix outside the USA is using the VPN services of ExpressVPN. Their VPN services have worked constantly with American Netflix for ages, and they also give you access to other Netflix regions like Canadian Netflix, German Netflix, and UK Netflix.

Visit ExpressVPN(start watching Netflix right away)

ExpressVPN has a fantastic offer if you sign up for 12 months. You will then get three months for free, and a much lower monthly fee than if you sign up for 1 month only. And do not forget, ExpressVPN has a 30-day full refund policy! No worries!

Watch US Netflix – one more way

If you want to get access to US Netflix at the moment, you need a subscription to the VPN provider PureVPN. They have a seven-day full refund policy valid if you have used less than 3 GB of bandwidth, so no risk in trying.

Watch American Netflix with PureVPN(you can start watching in a few minutes)

Once you have the PureVPN application installed select the Settings symbol and Change Mode (or in newer versions of the PureVPN app you can select Dedicated Server. Then you need to write the following server into the field: abc1.ptoserver.com. If you should have any problems along the way, you can use their live chat at the PureVPN website for further help.

These steps will provide you with an IP address that will give you access to US Netflix from all around the world.

Enjoy watching US Netflix!

Glad to finally visit a site that has updated information. I was especially looking for information on how to access German Netflix, and here I found it… and it’s working. Thanks a lot! 🙂

I just updated the front page and lots of sub-articles to make sure that they are up to date. The front page has been updated with information about the EU regulations, and also with information on a VPN provider that will help you get access to lots of Netflix regions at the same time. Hope you will find the updated instructions useful. If you have a question or a comment, please write!

I just tested the services described in this article, and I can confirm that they both work perfectly with American Netflix as of June 2018. Enjoy streaming Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi on American Netflix, and of course all other content you might be interested in!

This sucks that you have to pay for an extra server to watch Netflix one is already paying for.
    Not fair.
But that’s the way of all corporations and governments, right?

Well… you are not really supposed to be able to stream content available in other Netflix regions, so that is quite nice of Netflix to actually let you access other Netflix regions with the same subscription. If you compare it with Amazon Prime, then Netflix is way nicer. To access Amazon Prime content in the UK you need a subscription in the UK. To access US Prime content, you need a prime subscription in the USA. With Netflix, one subscription is enough to access Netflix in all nations. The only you need to access Netflix in another country is therefore either a VPN that will give you access to the nation, or to actually move and physically reside in that given nation.

I have updated the article to reflect this information, and I no longer recommend HIdeMyAss for the purpose of streaming Netflix in the US anymore.

    Hi Martin,
thank you for asking! Netflix is as of today unavailable in China, meaning that the video streaming service is not available in the country. China has other video services, but has not opened the doors for Amazon Prime nor Netflix. But, it is possible to use a VPN like described in this article, and if you follow the methods mentioned in this article you should be able to stream Netflix in China! I suggest that you have your VPN subscription in order before traveling to China so that you are ready from the first minute.

If you have trouble, simply contact ExpressVPN (or PureVPN) or your VPN provider and ask them for specific help, but I do believe you should be able to fix this without any such help!

Is it possible to stream US Netflix in China? I trust your article, but I have heard so much about how it is hard to get access to international content in China, and that China has a big firewall blocking access to Instagram, Facebook etc… What about Netflix in China? Do they have Netflix at all in China? Can I stream US Netflix in China?

    Good morning TJ,

there are loads of websites out there with information on how to stream Netflix and get access to other Netflix regions that are completely out of date, so your question is 100% valid. Luckily this site is not like those, as I continuously test the methods described and also use them myself. You can therefore try them and feel safe, as these methods will work and help you get access to other Netflix regions easily.

You can manually add this server on your iPad or add it as a dedicated IP in the PureVPN app on iPad, but it doesn’t seem to work anyway. As far as I know Netflix has added some block in their Netflix application that makes this not working, even if the IP address you get should be working. I will look into this, I think ExpressVPN should be working with US Netflix, at least on Android (can not guarantee it though), but I would ask their customer service first. I would also contact the PureVPN customer service to hear if they can help you out!

Is there a way to access US Netflix without having to pay for it?

That’s a great question, but not that I know of. It is hard enough to find a working method that you have to pay for, so do not think there are good working methods available 100% for free.

Google for ChillGlobal. They give you 20 hours a month for free. And it’s fast. But from my location, only US netflix works. If I want to watch Australian (they have Interstellar) then it is blocked. So I guess ChillGlobal will soon be blocked as well.

You can use your current Netflix subscription in UAE, but you will only get access to stuff available in UAE. If you want to get access to Spanish Netflix and whatever is available there while in UAE you need to follow these instructions: http://netflix.fromabroad.org/get-access-spanish-netflix/

I was in Norway and logged into my Netflix account. I added a lot of movies to my list that were available there, but now back in the US, they are no longer listed anymore. How can I see those on my list again?

You open Netflix.com, press My Account and then under the Membership and Billing section you will see on the right a grey button saying “Cancel Membership.” 🙂

It seems as if it is hard to get this working with Unlocator now as well. But, please follow what’s written on our front page as we constantly update it with information on how you can watch Netflix in different regions! Unlocator is not a good option at the moment, but there are other options!

Even after setting up DNS with Unlocator, I still cannot watch my US English Netflix in Spain. This is crap!

How do these regional restrictions apply if I use satellite internet?

Running into the same problem – have a NL subscription, but traveling outside the NL, I can’t access the NL content (with NL subtitling, etc) anymore.
Talking to Netflix support, this they claim this is done because it’s a legal issue, however this is TOTALLY INCORRECT. As a NL citizen, with a NL account, I have a legal right to see NL content, even if I am in a different country. (This comparable with television content, e.g Canaldigital, where you can take your (satellite) subscription and travel within Europe on holidays, etc).
Can understand that there are commercial reasons to release content per region/country, however what is currently happening is that Netflix denies a person access to it’s own countries content, based on the location that the person is currently at.

This is specifically Netflix madness ..

The madness is not from Netflix, but from big movie business; they want to protect their stupid way to distribute movies around the world. As always, it is only a way to squeeze as much money as possible from the public.

However, Netflix, as a streaming service is beyond and ahead of regions and SHOULD be trying to protect the people who send them their moneys every single month to pay for the streaming services.

There is no sustainable reason why Person ABC in the USA should have a “right” to watch Movie MNL before Person XYZ has the same right in Country KBC. All the people in the world who pay the fees they are requested to pay should have the same rights concerning the contents to watch.

Netflix is being pressured from the Big Movie Business for the Monopoly Money Sqeezing Game. This should end soon, but only if and International Equal Rights Commission is presented, understood and respected as deserved.

If you want to watch in France I recommend that you try Unlocator first and setup their DNS service and set your Netflix region to France. Or if you are in France use Unlocator and set the Netflix region to USA (Usa 1, Usa 2) and you will be able to watch US Netflix in France 🙂

So I’m confused…it says it serves France, so if I am going to France, can I get to my US based Netflix account or do I still need the PureBPN app?

The thing that really sucks. I travel and I can’t even watch the catalog of shows available in the country I am in. Two hotels, my work and my apartment. I can’t stream netflix because they say the ISP is using a VPN. They went a step too far in the madness. So, basically can’t watch from a hotel anymore… 🙁
