If you like comedy series then you might have heard of the show Orange Is the New Black. Orange Is the New Black is one of the most watched shows on Netflix which is an American comedy and drama series that is based on the memoir of Piper Kerman.
The series got generally positive feedback and reviews and it was also nominated for several awards including 12 Primetime Emmy Awards, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Drama Series and so on. According to the nominations and critics it is supposed to be a good series so let´s see what it is about.
The story of the series revolves around the innocent looking Piper Chapman, who is a young woman in her thirties living in New York with her boyfriend, Larry. They live in a happy relationship together and they are planning their future together but Piper´s not so clean past changes everyone´s life around her. Piper is sentenced to 15 months in a minimum security woman´s federal prison, because she was involved in drug money.
In the series you can follow the struggles Piper has to fight with the other inmates and see her character change during the show. In my opinion Orange Is the New Black is a really entertaining and funny series with interesting characters and character developments. The show is more recommended for girls because the 90% of the characters in the show are women, so the girly problems, cat fights, drama, talking behind each others back and gossiping are in the forefront. In the series some already well-known actors appears such as Jason Biggs who is best known from the American Pie movies, who plays the fiance of Piper in the series.
The first season of the show debuted on 11th July 2013 and the season consists 13 episode and the upcoming season, the fourth one will premier sometime in 2016 on Netflix.
