In Bruges is a British-American crime comedy movie that was released in 2008 and it was directed and written by Martin McDonagh. The movie stars Colin Farrell as Ray, who is an Irish hit man, Brendan Gleeson as Ken, who also works as a hit man, Ralph Fiennes as Harry Waters, who is a rich and violent crime boss, Clèmence Poèsy as Chloë Villette, who is a Belgian criminal, drug dealer and also a production assistant, Jordan Prentice as Jimmy who is an American dwarf actor.
The movie is focused on Ray who works as a hit man and he feels incredible remorse after accidentally killing a young boy during his first work. So Ray and his partner Ken are sent to Bruges by their employer Harry Waters to wait there until he gives them further instructions. So the two hit men living their life in Bruges like all the other tourists staying in a charming hotel in the heart of the city and getting to know new people from Bruges. Ken really enjoys the historical city but Ray on the other hand goes through the deepest hell because of the murder so one day he decides to take his own life away but Ken stops him and encourages him to move and and forget everything, but then finally Harry calls and from that point the lives of the two hit men turns into a life and death struggle.
The movie generally got great reviews and critics, the movie is really entertaining and fun to watch with good dark humour and emotional consequences.
With the movie In Bruges Colin Farrell won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy and Martin McDonagh won a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
