I just wanted to write a short post to tell you all that we have reached a milestone on Netflix. We now have 1000 subscribers on YouTube, meaning that we have just reached a big milestone.
Of course, we don’t have thousands of viewers on all our videos yet, but we are getting there.
Are you subscribing to our YouTube channel? It is the perfect place for those who want news about what’s new on Netflix, and it is a great place to find instructions and tutorials with information about Netflix related subjects, often combined with the usage of VPN service.
Did you know that we have a YouTube channel on which we post videos about what’s coming to Netflix, and also about how and where you can stream all sorts of content on Netflix? If you didn’t, we have, and it just passed 500 subscribers!
You can find our YouTube channel right here. Make sure to visit our channel and to subscribe to our YouTube channel to get the latest information yourself. For example, a few days ago we posted a video about how you can watch A Star is Born on Netflix. I don’t think any other posts have been made online about this yet, simply because it is a brand new people and most fans don’t even know that it can be streamed on Netflix yet.
Another brand new movie is about Poldark season 5, another show that has just released its brand new season on Netflix. Would you like to know how and where you can stream it online? Follow the instructions in the video and get ready to have some fun!
But, we do not only post how-to clips on our YouTube channel. Last week, we posted a short clip dealing with when we can expect The Walking Dead season 10 to come to Netflix. It will for sure that a while, but based on our knowledge and experience, our estimates for the arrival of TWD season 10 on Netflix are shared in the clip.
Sometimes we also created clips presenting what’s coming to Netflix in different months. Here you can see an example of a little clip presenting what’s coming to Netflix in Canada in September 2019.
In other words, you have a lot of reasons to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Check the videos and we look forward to reading your comments and receiving some thumbs up from you on our YouTube channel in the future!
Quite a lot of viewers as well!
So, we have more than 500 subscribers on our YouTube channel. But, did you know that our videos have been seen more than 300,000 times? In other words, we are approaching one million views slowly. Who knows? Maybe we will reach that number in 2020. That is at least our goal!
Thank you for being a subscriber. Make sure to visit netflix.fromabroad.org for more written news in addition to everything that is shared on our YouTube channel.
It is very strange to tell you, but the most popular video on our YouTube channel in September 2019 was a clip about how to stream Downton Abbey on Netflix. But, the very irony of it all is that you cannot stream Downton Abbey on Netflix anymore.
When we first created the movie, you could stream Downton Abbey on Netflix here and there, but now, it has been totally removed from Netflix and cannot be streamed on Netflix at all. But, that is probably the reason why so many people actually watch the movie, because they want to find out if it is actually possible.
Unfortunately, we cannot change the content of a movie that has already been published, but we have pinned a comment to the video telling the viewers that Downton Abbey isn’t on Netflix anymore.
In other words, forget about what we are actually saying in the video because it no longer works that way. If Downton Abbey will return to Netflix sometime soon, we will probably delete this video and create a brand new instead.
Other popular content on Netflix in September
Those not looking for a way to stream Downton Abbey in September, what were they looking for at our Netflix channel?
Well, we had quite a lot of people looking for a way to stream The Blacklist season 6 on Netflix. It might be that many of these people are even more interested in finding out how they can watch The Blacklist season 7 on Netflix, a brand new season that will premiere tonight on NBC in the United States.
The video about how to stream The Blacklist season 6 on Netflix is actually the second movie about the same topic. It was created because the previous movie was blocked by YouTube, simply because it contained a few seconds of actual footage from the season. So, NBC wanted to take it down, and YouTube followed their orders. As a result, we created a second movie without actual clips from the season, and so far it looks like YouTube will let it stay on the platform.
Want to watch Power season 6?
The final season of Power is currently running in the United States, and in the UK, Netflix is the official broadcaster of the show (just like with Suits season 9). As a result, you can easily watch Power season 6 on Netflix. This is not for kids, as it is packed with violence, ugly language, and sexual content.
The clip above has been seen by a couple of hundred people so far, and it will for sure be enjoyed by even more people in October as new episodes are released weekly on Netflix in the UK. If you are a fan of Power, this is your chance to see the final season of the show. If you haven’t seen any single episode yet, go ahead and watch the first five seasons before you get ready to stream season 6 on Netflix as well.
Ready for some romance in Outlander?
One last clip that caught the interest of a couple of hundred people was our instructions on how to watch Outlander season 4 on Netflix. This show is a really popular one, but while most countries will only give you access to the first three seasons (or nothing at all), this clip will show you how to watch the first four seasons of Outlander on Netflix. Isn’t that great?
Outlander isn’t a favorite show of mine, but I know there are millions of fans out there who would be really happy to catch up and watch all the episodes of season 4 of the show on Netflix.
This was just a short update on what’s going on at your YouTube channel. Make sure to subscribe to it for more updates and Netflix related content.

Is Netflix the most popular streaming service in the Netherlands? How many people actually subscribe to Netflix and use Netflix in the Netherlands?
I have been writing a lot of articles lately dealing with the number of subscribers to popular streaming services. To my great surprise, I discovered that Amazon Prime has 105 million subscribers, though it cannot be said for sure if this is the number of subscribers in the USA or worldwide. Most likely, it is the number of worldwide subscribers, simply because it would be unlikely that they have this number of subscribers in the USA, but nothing can be said for sure.
But, when it comes to Netflix, things are a bit easier, even though they do not publish a lot of numbers either. What we can know about Netflix is that they have about 150 million subscribers worldwide, and the number of subscribers in the Netherlands is somewhere between 2,5 and 4 million.
I have seen numbers varying between 3 and 4,5 million subscribers, but it is very important to know that the number of viewers is far higher than the number of subscribers. After all, you can view Netflix at several locations at the same time with one subscription, and it is normally families and couples that watch content together.
Netflix – the most popular streaming service in the Netherlands
It is very clear that Netflix is, by far, the most popular streaming service in the Netherlands. All other streaming services have less than 500,000 subscribers, meaning that Netflix beats them all. Not only do they have more subscribers, but Netflix has very eager subscribers. Back in 2017, is it said that Netflix subscribers by average spent 85 minutes EVERY SINGLE DAY watching content on the platform. That is one depressing number, at least for those who want to change the world. For Netflix, it is good, but considering how much time we actually spend in front of our TVs and smart devices watching stuff (instead of doing stuff), I find this number to be quite depressing.
What about YouTube in the Netherlands?
But, it is also important to notice that most people watching Netflix, also watch other content. In fact, the most popular video streaming service in the Netherlands is a free one… it is called YouTube. Even more, people use YouTube than Netflix, even though my personal belief is that you get higher quality and spend the best hours of the day on Netflix compared to YouTube.
But, the age-groups most frequently using both YouTube and Netflix is those aged between 12-20 years old. The YouTube audience is by default a bit younger, while the Netflix users normally are a couple of years older.
What about NOS and other services?
Normal television is kind of outdated, but the Dutch TV channel NOS/NPO is still a very popular one. That is why there are loads of people checking out the article on how to watch NPO abroad every month, simply because they are big fans of the Dutch channel and want to watch its content. And the same can be said about Dutch Netflix. It doesn’t matter if it has 2,5 or 4 million subscribers when these people go abroad, they quickly discover that the Netflix content in the rest of the world is different from what they are served in the Netherlands (both for good and for worse). Maybe they discover new content on Netflix that they haven’t seen before (and that they would like to stream), or maybe they discover that their favorite show is gone and that they desperately start searching for ways to access Dutch Netflix abroad as a result.
Netflix Netherlands is getting better and better
What is important to realize is that Netflix is a very important part of our culture, and especially among young people. This means that they speak about Netflix, watch Netflix, speak about Netflix, and then watch some more Netflix. What do they speak about in school? They speak about the most recent season of Stranger Things and Black Mirror, their thoughts on the new show named The I-Land, and all the other stuff that comes with Netflix.
And with this giant success in the Netherlands, Netflix also helps out with Dutch subtitles and dubbing (where needed), making the streaming site even better. No wonder why the Dutch people love Netflix so much!
If you speak to people about watching films, clips and stuff online, they will often throw YouTube in your face. But, just today I read an article telling that Netflix is responsible for twice as much bandwidth in the USA as YouTube is.
In fact, during peak hours Netflix is responsible for almost 35% of all bandwidth used in the United States, while YouTube is responsible for about 14% of the bandwidth during the same period. That means more than twice as much bandwidth is used by Netflix. Does this mean Netflix has more users than Netflix? Not at all… and this is why?
YouTube and Netflix bandwidth usage
The truth is that if you watch a 60min clip of YouTube, then that will normally cause you to use something like 500 MB of bandwidth. This is of course generalizing the subject, because it for sure depends on the quality of the video and the speed of your ISP, but based on tests, that could be near the truth. If you then go to Netflix, and we for sure do, and then we decide to watch a House of Cards episode which lasts around 55 mins (let us say one hour just to make things easier). If you then measure the amount of bandwidth used during the 60 minutes you have been using in front of the monitor watching Netflix you will find out that you have used around 10 times more bandwidth watching 60 minutes of Netflix, compared to watching 60 minutes of YouTube. In other words, you can sit 10 hours in front of the computer watching YouTube, and only then will you have used just as much bandwidth as if you had been watching 1 hour of Netflix.
So, this is of course not possible, but let us say that the 35% bandwidth used by Netflix users represent 35 minutes watched online. If you use some math, then that would mean the amount we are watching Netflix would be 14% multiplied with 10, meaning that we watch 140 minutes of YouTube during the same period. Those are some nice numbers, because that means exactly 75% people spend their time on YouTube, while 25% of the people spend their time on Netflix. That is of course a bit better that all the 25% using Netflix pay every month to do so, meaning that it is much better value than having 75% people maybe press an add now and then!
