This is 40 is an American comedy movie that was released in 2012 and it was written and directed by Judd Apatow.
The This is 40 tells the story of a married couple Pete and Debbie as they each turn 40. The film shows how they both dealing with their current life, jobs, their kids love and family life. This is 40 stars Paul Rudd as Pete, Debbie’s husband who is also a record label owner, Leslie Mann as Debbie, Pete’s wife who is an owner of a small shop, Maude Apatow as Sadie who is the 13 year old daughter of Pete and Debbie, Iris Apatow as Charlotte who is the 8 year old daughter of Pete and Debbie, Jason Segel as Jason, Debbie’s trainer, Charlyne Yi as Jodi who is one of the employees of Debbie and Tim Bagley as Dr. Pellegrino who is the gynaecologist of Debbie. The movie starts with Debbie’s 40th birthday who takes turning 40 pretty bad. Debbie owns a boutique and Pete has a record label with his friends but he is struggling with the business. The marriage of Debbie and Pete is not the best so after Debbie talked to Jason, Debbie decides to improve and make their marriage good again but it is not as easy as it sounds. She tries to renew the family connection and pull their life together again.
This is 40 generally got good reviews and critics on the acts and the cast and the movie has some great comedy moments and perceptive scenes but it was criticised because of its overlong running time and its occasional aimlessness.
